Why “Perfect Prompts” Might Be Slowing You Down And What To Do Instead
Go from blank page to 12-month ABM playbook with Sam Kuehnle’s iterative prompting method.
I’ll admit it… I still get caught up chasing the “perfect prompt.” I am embarrassed to admit the time that I spend writing certain props. And I know I’m not the only one.
But this week’s guest, Sam Kuehnle, showed me a better way: start prompting, keep iterating, and you’ll end up with an A+ output. There’s still value in good prompt design, but it should never be the thing that slows you down.

Workflow Walkthrough: Iterative Prompting for an Incredible ABM Playbook
Meet Sam Kuehnle, VP of Marketing at Loxo. Sam built a full account‑based prospecting playbook with AI, not in one shot, but through 36 tight iterations. I asked him to show the exact steps, so you can steal the pattern for your team.
Generic prompts produce generic outreach. Iteration produces relevance, tone, and a plan your reps will use.
In this walkthrough, you will see:
The 36‑iteration loop Sam ran with Claude to move from draft to usable
How a basic four‑week sequence became a 12‑month ABM pla
Naming rules that drive adoption and keep tone consistent across asset
Where to add quick video messages for reply lif
How to fork one master into ICP and regional variants without ballooning effort
You will leave with a repeatable method to co‑create with AI, keep quality high, and scale outreach without sounding like everyone else.
Prompt of the Week: Magazine-Quality Image Creator
Back when I was early in my marketing career, creating images for blog posts, banners, ads, and product shots was a grind. Hours searching for stock photos, briefing designers, waiting for revisions. Now, tools like ChatGPT have changed the game. I even used this exact prompt to mock up Stack & Scale merch, like the hat in the photo here. The only hiccup… AI still refuses to nail the logo. LOL.
Here’s the copy + paste (and fill in the blank) template I used to create this:
[SUBJECT + ACTION + PRODUCT]
Example: A person holding a stainless steel water bottle
[CAMERA LANGUAGE]
- Angle: [e.g., overhead, close-up, wide shot, profile]
- POV: [first-person, eye-level, drone shot, cinematic POV]
- Lens type: [e.g., 35mm DSLR, macro lens, anamorphic]
- Crop: [portrait, landscape, square]
[LIGHTING + COLOR + BACKDROP]
- Lighting: [soft studio lighting, golden hour sunlight, dramatic shadows]
- Color tone: [vibrant, muted, monochrome, warm, cool]
- Backdrop: [minimal white, urban street, mountain landscape, textured wall]
[RESOLUTION + STYLE]
- Resolution: [8K, ultra-detailed, photorealistic]
- Style: [editorial, cinematic, product photography, hyperrealistic, surreal]
[DETAILS + ATMOSPHERE + ASPECT RATIO]
- Details: [skin texture, makeup details, fabric detail, fine shadows]
- Atmosphere: [moody, futuristic, dreamy, natural]
- Aspect ratio: [16:9, 1:1, 9:16, cinematic widescreen]

Tool of the Week: Research and Learning Made Easy
NotebookLM lets you upload your sources, listen to them as a podcast (my favorite way to learn since I basically live in AirPods), and then quiz the AI to make sure you’re retaining what matters.
You can turn dense reports, transcripts, or decks into a podcast-style audio feed and interactive study guide, so you actually absorb the insights instead of skimming and forgetting.
Here are some other ways to use NotebookLM:
Turn a webinar transcript into a podcast you can listen to on the go
Summarize dense analyst reports into snackable takeaways for exec updates
Create a Q&A study guide for new product positioning and messaging
Compare positioning across multiple competitor decks and highlight deltas
Build audio “flashcards” from customer interviews to train your team faster

TL;DR: Brian Balfour makes the case that ChatGPT and other AI assistants are evolving into a growth channel on par with SEO and social.
